Center stage
Is life a stage
— each one a page —
a mere passage?
— ’cross which each age
makes its voyage:
acts out montage
of roles — on edge always:
to hedge against outrage
above av’rage
— lest personage
whose patronage
set stage, reads page,
should take umbrage:
bare the visage
of which no sage
has sure knowledge —
and what wastage
of lives’ footage
